Alleluia, alleluia, Praise the everlasting King. [ Verse 2 ] Praise Him for His grace and favour To our fathers in distress; Praise Him still the same forever, Slow to chide and swift to bless; Alleluia, alleluia, Glorious in His faithfulness. [ Verse 3 ] Fatherlike, He tends and spares us, Well, our feeble frame He knows; In His Hands, He gently bears us, Rescues us from all our foes; Alleluia, alleluia, Widely as His mercy flows. [ Verse 4 ] Frail as summer's flower we flourish; Blows the wind and it is gone; But, while mortals rise and perish, God endures unchanging on. Alleluia, alleluia, Praise the high eternal One. [ Verse 5 ] Angels, help us to adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face; Sun and moon bow down before Him; Dwellers all in time and space. Alleluia, alleluia, Praise with us the God of grace. The day of march has come; Henceforth in fields of conquest Thy tents shall be our home: Thro' days of preparation Thy grace has made us strong, And now, O King Eternal, We lift our battle song. [ Verse 2 ] Lead on, O King Eternal, Till sin's fierce war shall cease, And holiness shall whisper The sweet Amen of peace; For not with swords' loud clashing, Or roll of stirring drums; With deeds of love and mercy The heav'nly Kingdom comes. [ Verse 3 ] Lead on, O King Eternal.
