Later known as Toronto Bible CoLLege, it merged with the London College of Bible and Missions in 1968 to become Ontario Bible College. The Seminary was established in 1976 to offer graduate theological education. In 1998, the name Tyndale was assumed, honouring William TyndaLe [1494-1536), the early English reformer whose commitment to making Scripture available to all persons led him to undertake the first English translation of the Bible. He is a model for scholarship, faith, and vision. In 2003, Tyndale was accorded university college status by the Province of Ontario. In 2007, Tyndale received approval from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and from the Ontario College of Teachers to offer a Bachelor of Education program. The Seminary’s graduate degrees, including the Doctor of Ministry degree, are accred- ited by The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada [ATS). In 2007, Tyndale purchased the Morrow Park property from the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto. Tyndale is an evangelical, transdenominational school with more than 9,500 alumni. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away. Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day! [ verse 2 ] All thy works with joy surround thee, earth and heaven reflect thy rays, stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise. Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea, chanting bird and flowing fountain, call us to rejoice in thee. [ verse 3 ] Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blest, well-spring of the joy of living, ocean depth of happy rest! Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are thine; teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine. 3 [ Page 4 of 16 ] [ verse 4 ] Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began; love divine is reigning o’er us, binding all within its span. Following a diploma in Travel and Tourism at Westervelt Business College, she worked for an international airline for three years before staying home to raise three children. Robyn was busy homeschooling, car-pooling, and volunteering in her church, community and later in her children’s schools. With a love for the Scriptures and for teaching, Robyn eagerly led Bible studies, women’s ministry, and was Director of Spiritual Formation at Nashville Road Community Church for five years. Robyn began exploring the spirituality and history of Christian heritage. This, coupled with her leadership responsibilities, led her to Tyndale to better equip herself for future ministry. Her passion is the formation and transformation of Christian leaders, both inside and outside of the church. Robyn is thankful to her husband Steve, for his indomitable support in making it possible for her to answer God’s call on her life. Robyn resides in Caledon and is the proud mother of Laura and her husband Curtis, Stevie Jr., and Sammy Jo. 13 [ Page 14 of 16 ] [ Heading 10 ] HONORARY DOCTORATE [ Heading 10.1 ] Lorna Dueck Dr. Lorna Dueck is the host and executive producer of Context with Lorna Dueck, and president of Media Voice Generation, the Canadian charitable organization that produces the weekly broadcast.
