In this connection one may think first of all of those going into congregational ministries, but the concept is applicable to every type of ministry. By a 'whole' ministry I mean one that is not lopsided, but which rather contains in good measure all the necessities of vital ministry. I wish for you a ministry characterized by biblical preaching and teaching. You will spend major blocks of time each week studying the Bible, using all the tools that you have learned in Seminary. You will meditate on the Scriptures and know the Holy Spirit making the truth alive to you. Then you will communicate the Word from God, persuaded that this Word is the most living and powerful reality in all the world. Also a ministry which has major focus on worship and prayer. You will lead the company of Christians into the presence of God, there to express their gratitude, devotion, love and joy in song and prayer. You will have a ministry which nurtures fellowship, reflecting vulnerability and servanthood, and which prepares Christians to relate in honesty and depth through sensitive counselling. The ministry that you will have will be Charismatic. By this I mean that the Holy Spirit will be so evidently present that the authority of God will be known and miracles of deliverance will be regularly anticipated. Your 'whole' ministry will express itself as a model of outreach, so that evangelism and missions are the lifestyle of the Christian community. And finally, there will be a social involvement which seeks the healing of society as well as the renewal of the Church. May God give us all 'whole' ministries so that we may see the development of ,whole' congregations and ,whole' Christians. faculty Dr. Victor Adrian Dr. Mariano Di Gangi Dr. William Foster Dr. Donald Leggett Dr. Roy Matheson Dr. Douglas Webster Dr. Grant Gordon Mr. James Johnson John Kessler Bob Morris 7 Dr. James I.
