God Moves In A Mysterious Way [Verse 1] GOD moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform : He plants His footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm. [Verse 2] Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take ! The clouds ye so much dread Are big with mercy, and will break In blessings on your head. [Verse 3] Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, But trust Him for His grace ; Behind a frowning Providence He hides a smiling face. [Verse 4] His purposes will ripen fast. Unfolding every hour ; The bud may have a bitter taste. But sweet will be the flower. [Heading 2.1.c] 3. Help Me O Lord [Verse 1] HELP me, O Lord, the God of my salvation ! I have no hope, no refuge but in Thee : Help me to make this perfect consecration, In life or death Thine evermore to be. [Verse 2] Help me, O Lord, to keep my pledge unbroken ! Guard Thou my ways, my thoughts, my tongue, my heart ; Help me to trust the word which Thou hast spoken, That from Thy paths my feet may ne'er [ never ] depart. [Verse 3] Help me, O Lord ! My strength is only weakness ; Thine, Thine the power by which alone I live ; Help me each day to bear the cross with meekness, Till Thou at last the promised crown shalt give. [Heading 2.1.d] 4. The Star-Spangled Banner OH, say, can you see by the dawns early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars. thro' the perilous fight, O'er [ Over ] the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming ? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' [ through ] the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er [ Over ] the land of the free, and the home of the brave? [ PAGE THREE ] [Heading 2.3] THE PROGRAMME The National Anthem. [ PAGE FOUR ] [Heading 2.4] THE MESSAGE April 30th, 1942. TO OUR FRIENDS AND VISITORS: We welcome you most cordially to our 1942 Graduation Exercises. Your presence here suggests that you may be interested in what the College is doing, and, therefore, we take the opportunity of giving you some facts. During the past year there were 290 students registered in the full Three-Year Course and 208 enrolled in the Evening Classes. These numbers are smaller than those of last year as a number of our young men left the College to join the Active Forces, others have been called up for four months' tentative training, and still others who would have entered the College last September did not do so because they felt called to go into one or other of the Services. Tonight 71 young men and women will graduate in the Regular Course, and 16 will receive Evening Class certificates. Owing to world conditions, not many will be able immediately to enter foreign missionary service as is usually the case. All of them, doubtless, will take up Christian service of different kinds in various places. During the forty-seven years of its history, the College has had the privilege of assisting in the preparation of more than 18,000 young men and women, of whom upwards of 7,500 have passed through the Regular Course and about 11,000 through the Evening Classes. In the last five years the number of students entering the full Three- Year Course has been 1,701. In the reconstruction period which must follow the present conflict, there will be unlimited opportunities everywhere for service by young men and young women trained in the Word of God and in the verities of the Christian faith. Spiritual and moral leadership is one of our pre - eminent needs. We believe that the work of the College is more vitally necessary than ever, because of the problems arising out of the present world-wide conflict against the forces of wickedness and darkness. In order that all young people, regardless of financial circumstances, who feel called to Christian service, may take advantage of the training the College provides, no tuition fees are charged. Students pay a registration fee of $15.00. (Evening Course $8.00). The College is dependent on God's gracious provision through the goodwill and generosity of His people. We earnestly invite you to have a share in this enterprise and opportunity. Any gift you make, whether large or small, will be gratefully acknowledged by the Treasurer. A copy of the College Annual Report will be sent you upon request. On behalf of the Board of Governors, JOHN WESTREN Treasurer. E. G. BAKER. President.
