TO GOD BE THE GLORY! [Verse 1] To God be the glory! great things He hath done! So loved He the world that He gave us His Son; Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, And opened the Life-gate that all may go in. Chorus : Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son; And give Him the glory — great things He hath done! [Verse 2] O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood! To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives. [Verse 3] Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see! [Heading 2.1.b] 2. REJOICE, THE LORD IS KING! [Verse 1] Rejoice, the Lord is King! Your God and King adore; Mortals give thanks and sing, And triumph evermore: Lift up the heart, lift up the voice: Rejoice aloud, ye saints, rejoice! [Verse 2] Rejoice! the Saviour reigns — The God of truth and love, When He had purged our stains. He took His seat above: Lift up the heart, lift up the voice: Rejoice aloud, ye saints, rejoice! [Verse 3] He all His foes shall quell. Shall all our sins destroy: And every bosom swell With pure, seraphic joy: Lift up the heart, lift up the voice : Rejoice aloud, ye saints, rejoice! [Verse 4] Rejoice in glorious hope! Jesus, the Judge, shall come, And take His servants up To their eternal home: We soon shall hear th' [ the ] archangel's voice: The trump of God shall sound: Rejoice! [ PAGE THREE ] [Heading 2.2] The Message [ There's a line underneath the word "The Message" ] To Our Friends: It is gratifying to note among young people a growing interest in the study of the Word of God. The challenging influence of The Lord Jesus Christ in the lives of men and women leads them to seek an increased knowledge and understanding of the English Bible. It has been the continuing policy of Toronto Bible College to supply a positive interpretation and teaching of the Word, and to prepare members of its student body for an active life of Christian ministry at home and abroad. Last month we received a letter from a T. B. C. alumnus, now an outstanding minister in the U.S.A. He writes in warmest terms of the college, its steadfastness to the Word of God, and the valuable grounding he received in his three-year course of studies. All members of this great T. B. C. alumni family have this same appreciation of their Alma Mater. They serve today in more than 50 different countries, they are evangelical in character, and ably fitted for Bible exegesis, soundly grounded in the fundamental doctrines of our Christian faith. God has recognized with gracious favour the contribution which Toronto Bible College has made to the Christian life and ministry of our times. His hand of bounty has been apparent in the liberality of faithful stewards. They have entered into our labours, and their gifts have made it possible to bring within easy reach of young people the sound Bible teaching and training that is so essential in our day. We invite our friends to face the situation with us in confidence and trust, believing that God will award faithfulness in the larger task He has given us to do. On behalf of the Board of Governors, WM. INRIG, President. [Heading 2.3] 3. HELP ME, O LORD! [Verse 1] Help me, O Lord, the God of my salvation! I have no hope, no refuge but in Thee; Help me to make this perfect consecration. In life or death Thine evermore to be. [Verse 2] Help me, O Lord, to keep my pledge unbroken! Guard Thou my ways, my thoughts, my tongue, my heart; Help me to trust the word which Thou hast spoken. That from Thy paths my feet may ne'er [ never ] depart. [Verse 3] Help me, O Lord, when sore temptations press me! Oh, lift the clouds that hide Thee from my sight! Help me, O Lord, when anxious cares distress me. To look beyond, where all is calm and bright. [Verse 4] Help me, O Lord! My strength is only weakness; Thine, Thine the power by which alone I live; Help me each day to bear the cross with meekness, Till thou at last the promised crown shalt give.
