Abstract

This research portfolio describes the researcher’s lifelong leadership journey, his theology and philosophy of leadership, his ministry context, and his DMin research project. The DMin project sought to understand how small to mid-sized churches can leverage the observations and insights of its seniors—those over age 60—to effect growth. The project used an adapted version of Appreciative Inquiry with two groups of seniors to come up with proposals to enhance the ministry of Celebration Church Barrie. This was a successful endeavour, and the researcher will use this process to further enhance the ministry of Celebration Church and other congregations within their denomination. This approach harmonized with the researcher’s focus on servant leadership and authentic leadership.
