Abstract
A project was designed to introduce the spiritual discipline of morning and evening prayer to the congregation at Christian Baptist Church in Newmarket, Ontario to enhance the vitality of the congregation. A prayer guide was used to guide the participants during the forty day exercise. Interviews and a questionnaire were used to capture and document the participants' prayer practices before and after the forty days. The analysis of the participants' responses provided the research with a before and after picture of the participant's prayer lives. Eighteen of the participants who completed the forty days indicated an increase in the regularity of their prayers and a deeper engagement with God in their daily prayer practices.
